It is recognized that participation by all individuals, players, coaches, officials, volunteers, parents, spectators is fully a voluntary act. These guidelines have been developed in accordance with Little League International “Best Practices” and the CDC “Considerations for Youth Sports” and they are exactly that, guidelines and implementation is to be guided by what is practical under the circumstances. Gettysburg Little League takes the safety of our players, coaches, volunteers and their families seriously. We are happy to say that our Summer Season has been a successful season. While following the above stated guidelines we have been able to play ball while having zero instances of a covid breakout. We are thankful and proud of everyone who is doing their part to keep us all safe and able to maintain play. Below is a summary of a few items we as a league have been doing during our summer season to maintain safety, we will continue to follow these guidelines (or any others that may arise) during our 2020 Fall Ball Season as well. If you have any questions or concerns please email us at [email protected].
- SPACING DUGOUT - Players are to be spaced out in our dugouts. Players need to bring chairs to games so appropriate spacing can occur and we can maintain social distancing.
- NO SHARED EQUIPMENT - Players need to bring their own equipment to games and practices (if able) there will be no sharing of equipment or drink coolers, snacks etc. Should equipment need to be shared the equipment will be sanitized before and after use.
- MASK USAGE - Masks are optional & allowed both on the field and in the dugout when social distancing cannot be maintained. This is a personal choice made by players and their families.
