Getting Ready for the Spring Season

We're excited to get our spring season started with you! If you're new to baseball or Gettysburg Little League, you might be wondering what you need to prepare your player.

New players will receive a jersey and a hat.

Parents will need to provide their player with:
- gray or white baseball pants - player’s choice of long or short (Manager will let you know which color)
               If short pants are chosen, long baseball socks are also the responsibility
               of the parents.(Color will be at the Manager's discretion)
- for boys, a cup is mandatory.
- a coordinating belt, if the pants have belt loops
- a glove that fits their non-throwing hand.
- baseball cleats -
       - plastic or rubber spiked for T-ball - Majors divisions (ages 5-12).
               Metal spiked cleats are NOT permitted in the T-ball - Majors divisions
               (ages 5-12) for safety reasons.
       - metal spiked cleats are recommended for Juniors - Big League divisions
               (ages 13-18).
- STRONGLY RECOMMENDED - baseball slider shorts - these are lightweight,
                compression shorts that have pads at the hips.
Although not required, a helmet and bat are strongly recommended. Be sure that the bat meets USA Bat regulations for the season. Visit https://www.littleleague.org/playing-rules/bat-information/ for more information.
GLL will supply helmets and bats to those who do not have their own during the season.

Your Manager will email you before the season begins with regard to color of pants and sock/belt colors.

LITTLE LEAGUE PATCH PLACEMENT

PARENTS & GUARDIANS ~
When you receive your player's jersey and patch, please affix the patch on the LEFT SLEEVE, 3” below left shoulder seam, so the patch is centered on the sleeve facing out.

You may either sew it on or use the iron-on. Be aware that your jersey will be laundered many times throughout the season and the patch will need to remain secure.

**IMPORTANT :
- If using iron-on, USE LOW HEAT SETTING! Our jerseys are made of a dry-wicking
material that WILL MELT if heat is too high!
- Also, use a towel placed inside the sleeve and on top of the LL patch while ironing.

This needs to be done prior to your first official game.
